William Goldberg

Founder & Instructor | Goldberg Aviation

William Goldberg is both a teacher and a lifelong student of turbine aircraft operations. With a passion for precision and safety, he has devoted his career to building an organization that delivers the highest-quality, in-cockpit training for select turbine aircraft—most notably the TBM and Pilatus models.

Throughout his 36+ year aviation career, William has flown in over 80 countries, amassing over 27,000 flight hours. His extensive mission experience spans law enforcement, Alaskan bush flying, air ambulance, corporate aviation, and U.S. Army intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

Since 2014, William has worked full-time as a turbine aircraft instructor specializing in the TBM. He has delivered over 8,200 hours of flight instruction, including more than 7,000 hours in the TBM alone, training initial and recurrent pilots across a wide range of turbine platforms.

William brings his instruction a unique blend of hands-on experience and academic insight. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in human factors in aviation, allowing him to bridge the gap between mission execution, aircraft performance, and human capability.

In addition to his instructional work, William is a respected voice in aviation safety. He regularly contributes safety articles to TBMOPA Magazine and Pilatus Owners and Pilots Association Magazine and is an original member of Daher's Safe Horizons Safety Committee. He is also a frequent presenter for aviation safety organizations and insurance providers, sharing insights on pilot error, loss of control, and practical strategies to enhance operational safety.  William also owned and operated a Part 135 Air Charter business.

William splits his time between his home in the Beartooth Mountains, northwest of Cody, Wyoming, and Columbia, South Carolina, where he offers winter flight training.

When not flying or teaching, William enjoys the outdoor life in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem—hiking, camping, hunting, and watching wildlife. He also finds joy in spending time with his wife and children, flying his Super Cub, and catching up with friends in town.

Should you decide to come train with William at his home airport in Cody, WY or in Camden, SC, there are plenty of opportunities for you and your family members to enjoy the same activities and experiences William loves in his free time.
